On Sunday at Geelong promising three year old Dirty Grin put his name up in lights for some stronger races, beating some nice horses in the 1400m maiden.
The smart Zacinto gelding was a little unlucky the previous start at Sandown, running on strongly for fourth place not beaten far. On this occasion he was afforded a nice run in behind the speed with Damien Thornton angling through a tight gap at the top of the straight to burst through the inside and win comfortably.
From the time he debuted at Caulfield we knew we had a promising horse on our hands and being able to break through for that win will allow him to showcase his talents on the city stage, with a couple of options on the horizon in town in some of the better three year old races.
Congratulations to loyal owners Matt Bracchi and John Kovacevik who deserve a nice horse and hopefully he can continue to improve and win more races for them.
Dirty Grin was bred in New Zealand and as we know, it’s a fantastic breeding ground for racehorses and we’ve purchased a few excellent prospects at great value from the 2023 Karaka sale. For more information on these horses head to https://www.simonzahra.racing/horses-available-2023/
