Our fourth and final purchase at the NZB Karaka 2023 Sale is a beautiful staying type filly by Vadamos out of a well related Fastnet Rock mare.
VADAMOS is a sire Simon has really warmed to and believes has massive potential to produce stayers of the future. Vadamos is the sire of NZ’s star Group 1 winning mare La Crique and we believe there’s plenty more stakes horses to come as his progeny matures.
URBAN ROCKER is a well bred mare out of champion sire FASTNET ROCK. She was a metropolitan winning mare of two races over a mile and 1900m. She has produced two to go to the races for two winners including a very good Hong Kong horse in KEEFY. She is from the family of stakeswinners SHARVASTI (G1 winner), Semari (Group 2 placed) and Tourbillon Diamond – Eric The Eel (Dual Group 1 placed). The Vadamos/Fastnet Rock cross has produced only two runners, both who are winners.
This filly was a lovely mover with great balance and looks like the perfect type to set for the three year old races as a mile and beyond, whilst mature enough to be running as a two year old.
She was purchased for only $45k from one of our favourite farms in Wentwood Grange who have raised Group 1 winners I AM A STAR, KOLDING, KERMADEC, OUR LICKETY SPLIT and recent VRC Derby winner MANZOICE amongst others.
