Beaten only once in a nine start career with five of his successes coming at Gr.1 level (including the Golden Rose, the Caulfield Guineas and the Rosehill Guineas), The Autumn Sun was certainly the stand-out three-year-old of his year.
Blessed with an outstanding turn of foot, the son of the great Redoute’s Choice out of a half-sister to the multiple Gr.1 winner Azamour is now proving his worth at stud with Autumn Angel, Vibrant Sun and Coco Sun all Gr.1 winners.
Another three of The Autumn Sun’s first 87 winners from his first two crops are stakes winners and he is certainly a stallion on the rise.
He is doing a particuarly good job with his fillies and this lass has plenty going for her, being a daughter of the very talented race mare Military Reign who did such a great job winning eight of her 22 starts including the Listed Beaufine Stakes.
She is continuing the good work at stud with her first three foals all being winners… including our stable’s promising three-year-old Duty Calls and the very exciting two-year-old Military Tycoon; all the way winner of the recent Gr.3 Ottawa Stakes before a nice run in the Golden Slipper.
A full sister to the stakes placed multiple city winner Military Ruler, Military Reign has the French Gr.1 winning successful stallion Highest Honor and the local stakes winners Alpine Express, Adamantly and Hot ‘N’ Ready amongst her relations.
This filly’s pedigree is an exciting one with her grandsire Redoute’s Choice hailing from the same family as her dam sire Universal Ruler’s dam sire Hurricane Sky – providing for a 4 X 5 cross of the wonderful broodmare Dancing Show.
She is a proven high class line-breeding subject with the latest success being the recent Golden Slipper Stakes winner Marhoona.
