Description
What an eye-catching colt this fellow is and he has plenty in his favour being a member of the second local crop of the well credentialled Darley stallion Ghaiyyath.
The winner of nine of his 13 starts – his four Gr.1 victories earning him the title of European Horse Of The Year – the son of the great Dubawi has made a most encouraging start to his northern hemisphere stud career with 13 winners in his debut crop.
This filly is a half-sister to the stakes placed multiple city winner Our Heidi out of a lightly raced mare whose Gr.1 winning sire Denman is by the mighty Lonhro.
Scout Finch has as her dam the terrific mare Petite Oiseau, winner of six races including the Listed Tasmanian Oaks and the Listed Tasmanian 1000 Guineas. She also did well at stud with five winners including the stakes placed Bulwer Bay and the city winner Better Call Saul.
This is a strong Tasmanian branch of a family that has enjoyed international success at the highest level with this colt being a descendant of one of the greats of the turf – the legendary race mare and matriarch Pretty Polly.
Dubawi and Galileo (in Ghaiyyath), Zabeel and Danehill (in Scout Finch) are brought together in this colt’s pedigree – four of the great stallions of recent times.
Dubawi and Danehill have combined in the pedigrees of 175 stakes winners (23 Gr.1 winners including Without A Fight and Broadsiding) and Dubawi and Zabeel in 15 stakes winners and four Gr.1 winners including Broadsiding and Militarize.
Galileo and Danehill have what can only be described as a great love affair – combining in 540 stakes winners with the mighty Frankel and current star Via Sistina amongst the 96 Gr.1 winners. And Galileo and Zabeel pair up in 28 stakes winners, six of whom are elite level winners.
Giving this colt plenty of pedigree power!
